Happy new year to everybody.

In Greece they have a really nice new years custom. It's called the kings cake. It is a cake where a gold coin is hidden inside. This dates back to when the British dropped gold coins over Greece during WWII to support Greece. The gold coins have been family treasures and are handed from generation to generation on weddings for example. Back to the cake: on new years the man of the house or oldest, cut up the cake into pieces, one for the house, one for the parents, one for everybody in the room, pretty much for everything thats important to him and the people present. Well and whoever gets the coin in his piece of the cake will have good luck and fortune for the following year. Yesterday evening La Negra had the coin inside its piece. She will be healthy, well off and with fair winds and water for 2013.
