Sailing mysteries part 2

Sailing is slow, everybody knows that, but just how slow it is, amazes everybody. The math: 1knot = 1 nautical mile per hour = 1.852km, so if you are traveling at 5kn you are going about 9.25km/h, and if you are going 8kn, which is really really fast for my boat, 14,816km/h, now when you ride your bike, you go 10km/h really easily. If I plan distance sailing I plan on an average of 5kn per hour because sometimes you go much slower than 5kn sometimes faster. So if you would start fast walking or jogging arcoss the atlantic you would probably arrive in the Caribbean at the same time as I would sailing.
